States of Motion
In the deep sea, between the imaginary and the geographical, we try to move on from the illusion that we are trained to stay in. We keep moving without thinking, getting stuck in a state of nothingness, without the space to look back. Meaning emerges from repeated movements and unites them into a single point. We transcend conventional boundaries and perceptions, thinking that we should not be afraid anymore. We create a realm where events accumulate, while manifesting a desire to be somewhere else.
This exhibition features the work of 13 artists and designers who have come together to challenge and reshape narratives, systems, landscapes, and states of mind. The diverse collection includes installations, textiles, sculptures, paintings, objects and performance.
The works reflect on the high tension between stillness and movement, exploring the gradients of things that can adapt, mutate or change in various directions. Of the ever changing nature of ‘States of Motion’.
